Video not available
Sometimes Cliphi cannot reach a video you paste. Here is what the message means and the quickest way around it.
Now and then you paste a link and Cliphi tells you the video is not available. That is almost always because of where the video lives, not the link itself. Here is what is going on and how to get past it.
Why it happens
- It is blocked in your region. Some videos are walled off by location, so Cliphi cannot reach them. You will see a Video Not Available message.
- It is private. Only public videos work. A private video cannot be opened.
- It has been taken down. If the video was removed, there is nothing left to clip.
The quickest fix: upload the file
If you have the video as a file, or can download it, upload it directly and Cliphi will clip it just the same. This gets around region blocks and private videos, since Cliphi is working from your file instead of the link.
When a video is blocked in your region, the message has an Upload Video button right there, so you can switch to a file in one tap. For a private or removed video you will see Try Another URL instead, so start a new project and upload your file the usual way. Either way, uploading is the fix. See Upload your own video.
If you do not have the file, paste a different, public video instead.
