This page lists the cookies and similar tools, such as your browser's local storage, that Cliphi uses on our website, www.cliphi.com: what each one is for and how long most of them last. The Cliphi app doesn't offer these choices yet. Our Privacy Policy explains everything else we do with your data.
On our website, if you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man or Gibraltar (together, the “consent region”), we ask before we set any analytics or advertising cookies. Until you choose, PostHog and the Meta Pixel don't run, we don't save where you came from in your browser or with your account, and our servers don't tell Meta about you unless they can't tell where you are.
In the consent region, Google's tag still loads. Until you agree, it sets no cookies, but Google may still receive your IP address, your browser details and the address of the page you're on and of the page you came from. When you pay for a plan, and sometimes when you buy credits while you have a plan, it may also receive that a payment was made and, for some payments, its amount. These go to Google without cookies. Our Google Ads tag leaves out the ID of any ad you clicked, but the page address Google receives can still contain it.
Everywhere else, analytics and advertising are on when you arrive on our website. You can turn them off at any time, and we respect that choice wherever you are. After you turn them off, Google's tag works without cookies, as described above.
To change your choice, use Cookie Settings in our website's footer or its account menu, or the button below. In the consent region we ask again 12 months after you choose. Everywhere else your choice stays until you change it.
These keep the website working and your account safe, or remember what you set, so you can't turn them off here.
__session and __client_uat on cliphi.com, and __client on clerk.cliphi.com. They keep you signed in and protect your account.cliphi_consent, a cookie with a copy in local storage. The cookie lasts up to 400 days and is set again whenever you choose; the copy stays until you clear it. When you are signed in and have made a choice, local storage also keeps cliphi_consent_synced, named with your Cliphi account ID, so we don't tell our servers the same choice twice. It stays until you clear it.cliphi_geo, in local storage, so we know whether to ask you about cookies. We use it for one day; after that it is removed the next time you visit.__cf_bm (30 minutes) to tell people apart from bots.sidebar_state (7 days) remembers whether the studio's sidebar is open, and local storage keeps other things you choose or start on Cliphi, such as light or dark mode, or a video link you pasted before signing in. Most of these stay until you clear them; a pasted link goes once you sign in. Session storage keeps some things only for the open tab, such as the page to return to after a payment and copies of what the studio already loaded, like your list of clips. Your browser removes them when you close the tab.cliphi_ft), where you last came from through a link, an ad or another website (cliphi_lt) and when you last opened a page here (cliphi_last_active). Each is used for 90 days after it was last written and removed on your next visit after that. When you sign in, we save where you came from with your account, so we can count which channels bring people to Cliphi. It also goes to PostHog, and to Meta through the Conversions API below if Advertising is on.cliphi_attribution_posted, cliphi_lt_posted and cliphi_ph_props, each named with your Cliphi account ID, so we don't send where you came from to our servers or PostHog twice. They stay until you clear them.ph_<our project key>_posthog, a cookie (1 year) with a copy in local storage, and __ph_opt_in_out_<our project key> in local storage, which records whether PostHog may run in this browser. Both local storage items stay until you clear them. The cookie and its copy also keep the address of a page you opened here, with any campaign tags or click ID in it, and of the page you came from. Until you close the tab, PostHog also keeps an ID for the tab and where this visit came from in session storage. PostHog counts which pages and features people use on our website, and when you are signed in this is linked to your account. It may also record how you move through our website (where you click and scroll, and what the pages show), with what you type into form fields hidden, so we can find and fix problems. PostHog keeps this data in the United States._ga and _ga_5HGHSXPQ92 (2 years). They count visits and show how people find Cliphi._gcl_au (90 days), and _gcl_aw (90 days) after you click one of our Google ads. They tell Google which of our ads led to a payment, and a flag in session storage (conversion_<payment ID>) stops that payment being counted twice until you close the tab. When our pages send Google data, Google may also use its own cookies on its domains, such as google.com and doubleclick.net._fbp (90 days), and _fbc (90 days) after you follow a link from Facebook or Instagram. When the pixel sends Meta data, Meta may also use its own cookies on its domains, such as facebook.com. The pixel tells Meta which pages you view on Cliphi, when you start a checkout and when you sign up. It also sends some events of its own, such as which buttons you click, with details about the page. If you are signed in, it also sends your email address and Cliphi account ID in scrambled (hashed) form, so Meta can match the visit to an ad._fbp and _fbc values (or, if you followed a link from Facebook or Instagram, the click ID Meta added to it). If our servers know you are in the consent region, we send these only if you allowed Advertising. Otherwise, we send them unless you turned Advertising off.Turning a category off stops it from then on (Google's tag then works without that category's cookies, as described above), and we delete what it stored on cliphi.com that your browser lets us remove. Our servers also delete what they kept for it: when you turn Analytics off, where you came from (not the copy kept with each past payment, or what PostHog already has); when you turn Advertising off, the IP address, browser details and Meta cookie values they kept for Meta. If you aren't signed in when you change your choice, our servers learn it the next time you sign in on this browser.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block essential cookies, you won't be able to sign in.
