# Buy credits

Top up with a one-time credit pack when you run low, without changing your plan.

Credits are what you spend to make finished clips. When you are running low, you do
not have to wait for your plan to refill or jump to a bigger plan. You can buy a
one-time credit pack and keep going right away.

A pack is a one-off purchase, separate from a subscription. The credits land in your
balance straight away and sit on top of whatever you already have. Like all credits,
they never expire.

## When to use a pack

- You are in the middle of a project and ran out of credits.
- You do not want a monthly plan, just credits when you need them.
- You are on a plan but had a busy month and need a bit extra.

## Buy a pack

Open the [Usage page](/studio/usage) and select **Buy Credits**. Cliphi also offers
packs right when you try to make a clip and do not have enough credits, so you can
top up without losing your place.

Pick a pack and pay. There are a few sizes: a small one for a quick top-up, up to
larger ones with more credits so you do not have to top up as often. The credits
show up in your balance right after you pay.

## Packs vs a plan

- A **plan** refills your credits every month for a monthly price. Best if you make
  clips regularly.
- A **pack** is a one-time top-up you buy whenever you want. Best for a one-off or
  an occasional boost.

You can use both: keep a plan for your usual amount, and buy a pack on a heavier month.
