# Vizard alternative: Cliphi vs Vizard \(2026\)

Vizard is a capable clipper with a real free tier. Cliphi is the pick when you want every feature at the entry price, credits that keep, and clips from a livestream while it is still on. Every number below comes from the vendors' own pages.

_Updated 2026-09-14, first published 2026-09-14._

## At a glance

- **60-min video, 10 clips:** Cliphi $0.69; Vizard $2.90 (Cliphi Starter vs Vizard Creator monthly. Creator billed yearly: $1.45.)
- **Unused credits:** Cliphi Never expire; Vizard Valid 2 months (Vizard monthly plans; 13 months on yearly. Rollover is automatic until then.)
- **Entry paid plan:** Cliphi $4.99/mo; Vizard $29/mo (Every Cliphi feature on the entry plan. Vizard Creator is $14.50/mo billed yearly.)

## The short answer

Vizard and Cliphi both charge one credit per minute of video you process. The differences are what the plan locks and what happens to credits you do not use. On Vizard, watermark-free 4K exports start at $29 a month \(or $14.50 billed yearly\) and credits expire after 2 months on monthly plans and 13 on yearly. On Cliphi every feature is on the $4.99 plan and credits never expire, but output is 1080p and there are no team seats.

**Pick Cliphi if:**
- You want the full feature set at the entry price, with credits that roll over indefinitely.
- You clip livestreams while they are live or record reactions over clips.
- You want to drive the tool from ChatGPT, Claude or your own agent.
- You post several clips per video and want the bill to stay small.

**Pick Vizard if:**
- You need 4K output.
- You work as a team and need a shared workspace with seats.
- You use AI B-roll.
- You want to try the whole editor free before paying \(60 minutes a month, watermarked, 720p\).

## Why people leave Vizard

- **Credits expire** Vizard's help center: rollover is automatic, but each release of credits is valid for 2 months on a monthly plan and 13 months on a yearly one. The reviews that mention losing credits after cancelling are describing this.
- **Upgrading forfeits credits** Unused Creator credits do not carry to Business if you move up, so the month you grow is the month you lose what you had banked.
- **The free tier is a demo** 60 credits, a watermark, 720p and 3-day project expiry, per the help center's free plan article. It shows the editor, not the output you would post.
- **The plan decides the output** 4K and watermark-free exports are Creator and up, and the yearly price that makes Creator cheap is a yearly commitment.
- **Livestreams wait for the VOD** Vizard works from a finished video. Cliphi starts clipping a YouTube, Twitch or Kick stream while it is live, so the first clips are out before the stream ends.
- **What the reviews repeat** Vizard is well liked: 4.7 from 2,520 Trustpilot reviews as of September 14, 2026, 2 percent one-star. The complaints that recur are unused credits forfeited on cancellation, a sign-up wall on tools marketed as free, and support response time.

## What switching to Cliphi looks like

1. **Paste the same link** YouTube, Twitch, Kick, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, or a file from your computer. A live stream works too.
2. **Choose the moments worth rendering** Cliphi scores every moment it finds and shows them before you spend anything on rendering. Framing, captions and music are already applied when you preview.
3. **Publish from one place** Post to YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads or X with the copy written, or download the files.

## Why Cliphi

- **No tier holds a feature back** Vizard's Free plan exports at 720p with a watermark; 4K and watermark-free exports start on Creator. Cliphi's plans differ only in credits: the $4.99 plan renders the same 1080p, watermark-free clip as the $29.99 one.
- **Credits that keep** Vizard rolls credits over but each release is valid for 2 months on monthly plans and 13 months on yearly, and unused Creator credits are lost if you upgrade to Business. Cliphi credits roll over indefinitely and survive a cancellation.
- **Livestreams, while they are live** Paste a live YouTube, Twitch or Kick stream and clips arrive before it ends. Vizard's pricing page lists no livestream feature.
- **Reactions and agents** Record your face or voice over any clip, or drive Cliphi from ChatGPT, Claude or your own agent through the MCP server. Neither is on Vizard's plan comparison.

## How Cliphi bills the same video

Cliphi charges one credit per minute of source video to process it, on any plan, and a quarter of a credit per second of finished clip to render it. You see every moment scored and framed before you render, so rendering credits only go to clips you will post. Every plan has every feature; plans differ only in monthly credits \($4.99 for 1,200, $9.99 for 2,500, $29.99 for 8,500 outside India\). Unused credits roll into next month and stay in your account after a cancellation. One-time packs never expire.

Vizard never charges for rendering, so on a video where you render very many clips the two converge. On the workloads most creators actually run, they do not.

| Monthly workload | Cliphi | Vizard |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Weekly 1-hour podcast, 10 clips each \(240 source minutes, 40 clips\) | 690 credits; the $4.99 plan covers it \(about $2.76 at the Starter rate\) | 240 credits; Creator at $29/mo, or $14.50 billed yearly |
| Four 6-hour streams, 8 clips each \(1,440 minutes, 32 clips\) | 1,800 credits; the $9.99 plan covers it \(about $7.19 used\) | 1,440 credits; above Creator's 600/mo base, so a higher Creator tier priced above $29 |
| Twenty 20-minute videos, 3 clips each \(400 minutes, 60 clips\) | 850 credits; the $4.99 plan covers it \(about $3.40\) | 400 credits; Creator at $29/mo, or $14.50 billed yearly |

_Assumes 45-second clips \(30 seconds for the daily case\). Cliphi costs use the Starter rate of $9.99 for 2,500 credits. Vizard credits are source minutes. Checked September 14, 2026._

## Where Vizard is the better pick

If you need 4K output, Vizard delivers it on Creator and Cliphi renders at 1080p, full stop. If you work as a team, Vizard's Business plan has a shared workspace and per-seat pricing and Cliphi does not sell seats. Vizard inserts AI B-roll, which Cliphi does not do, and its free tier lets you try the whole editor before paying anything. Those are real advantages and they are on Vizard's own pricing page.

## Where Cliphi is the better pick

Every Cliphi plan, from the \[$4.99 Explorer plan\]\(/pricing\) up, has every feature: speaker tracking, word-by-word captions, the music library, reactions, supercuts, publishing to six platforms and the \[agent API\]\(/docs\). Credits you do not use stay in your account for as long as you have one. Livestreams are clipped while they are live, which is how the \[Twitch to YouTube Shorts\]\(/tools/twitch-to-youtube-shorts\) and \[YouTube livestream to TikTok\]\(/tools/youtube-livestream-to-tiktok\) pages get used.

## How to switch from Vizard

Vizard's paid plans keep projects, so there is no deadline, but use the credits you have paid for first: they expire 2 months \(monthly\) or 13 months \(yearly\) after they were issued.

1. Paste the same source links into Cliphi. It processes from the original video, so there is nothing to export or migrate.
2. Set your caption style, logo and colours once in Brand and presets; they apply to every clip after that.
3. Connect the accounts you publish to \(YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X\) so finished clips can go out from the clip card.
4. Keep Vizard until its current credits are used, then cancel; unused credits do not survive a cancellation.

## Which one should you pick

Pick Cliphi if you want the full feature set at $4.99, credits that do not expire, live stream clipping, reactions, or a tool your AI assistant can drive. Pick Vizard if 4K, seats or B-roll are part of the job. If you are leaving because of credit expiry specifically, note that \[OpusClip's\]\(/alternatives/opus-clip-alternative\) credits expire faster \(60 days on monthly plans\); if you take only a few clips from very long footage, \[Klap's per-clip pricing\]\(/alternatives/klap-alternative\) may cost less than either. The quickest way to decide is the same either way: paste one of your own videos and compare the clips.

## FAQ

### Is Cliphi cheaper than Vizard?

For a typical hour of video with 10 rendered clips, yes: about $0.69 on Cliphi's $9.99 plan against $2.90 on Vizard Creator billed monthly or $1.45 billed yearly, as of September 14, 2026. Cliphi also charges for rendering, so the gap narrows if you render a lot of clips per video; at 20 clips it is about $1.14 against Vizard's unchanged $1.45.

### Do Vizard credits expire?

Yes, on a schedule. Vizard rolls unused credits over automatically, but its help center says each release of credits is valid for 2 months on a monthly plan and 13 months on a yearly plan, and unused Creator credits do not carry over if you upgrade to Business. Cliphi credits never expire.

### Does Cliphi export in 4K like Vizard?

No. Cliphi renders 1080p in 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9, on every plan and without a watermark. Vizard exports 4K on its paid plans and 720p with a watermark on Free.

### Can Cliphi clip a stream while it is live?

Yes. Paste a live YouTube, Twitch or Kick stream and clips start arriving before the stream ends. Vizard's pricing page does not list livestream clipping.

### Can my team share a Cliphi account?

Cliphi does not sell team seats or a shared workspace today. Vizard's Business plan does, at $5 a month per seat on top of the plan.

### What does it cost to start on Cliphi?

The Explorer plan is $4.99 a month for 1,200 credits with every feature included, and a one-time $4.99 pack gives 1,000 credits with no subscription. Visitors in India see separate rupee pricing; current numbers are on the pricing page.
